| Report... Hi all, fishing has been very good, all this week. We have several guys here this week that have been fishing alot and are doing very well. tons of Gills and Perch. It rained most of the night and part of the morning, so this should really trigger the bite. Trout fishing has been very good with some of the Browns being quite large, most being caught with fly patterns and just plain old worms. Steelhead fishing is slowing down, and lake fishing is good to very good, with wigglers and leaf worms working best.
Our guides are doing very good on Trout fishing, with limits on several trips.
I had thought that the Steelhead were mostly gone, but the Guides are still getting some. And with this rain we just got it may make them more active again. When these silver bullets hook up, hold on, they are going to take some line. These fish are some of the best fighting fish on the planet. The mighty Steelhead run an average of 8 lbs to 15 lbs with some tipping the scales over 20 lbs. A few of the Browns are over 24" and one was 27". Light tackle, clear water, Eagles flying overhead and the sounds of the river going by is one of the greatest things in life. Orange egg patterns are working well and wiggler patterns also doing very well. | Report... The fishing for steelhead has been good on the lower sections of the Pere Marquette and Pine Rivers. Spawn in the deep runs is doing the best. Fly fishing should pick up as soon as the water goes down alittle from the big melt off. Our guides will be going out tomorrow to get a first hand report. Ice fishing has been very good on Wolf Lake with good numbers of perch and pike being caught.
